You’re not accounting for the fact that many Dems didn’t vote. Kamala received millions less than Joe and a far larger share of men (young and black particularly) voted for Trump (compared to Biden in 2020). I get what you’re saying about total proportions, but that’s undervaluing the expansion of voters within crucial active areas that Trump gained.
You’re right - I liked that Kamala campaigned with Liz, but I’m also a former Republican who voted for Romney and McCain. As I said in essay, I overvalued democracy arguments and didn’t consider their practical implications that resonate with many Americans.
