This reasoning is inconsistent and not analogous - how can you denounce Hamas’ actions but find valid reasons for their fight? So they’re justified but you denounce them?
Throughout this piece you highlight Israel’s misdeeds, most of which I agree with, but you don’t highlight what else Hamas stands for - a theocratic government that gives no civil rights or liberties to non-Muslims (and especially women and gays). Whereas Israel is a relatively thriving democracy that has many Arabs and even some non-Jews it counts as citizens.
Hamas therefore should not be painted in the same portrait as American revolutionaries who were fighting for EQUAL rights under the law (even if they didn’t always practice it perfectly following independence). Hamas is not a revolutionary movement acting in good faith for a positive and prosperous future - they seek to destroy Israel. Not for their own freedom, but because they reject the presence of a Jewish state on what they perceive as only Muslim land.
