This is thought-provoking - as someone who occasionally includes my child in YouTube videos, it’s made me pause. Where’s the line here? Obviously lying to your kid to get a reaction for a vlog is disgusting but is having them as an occasional active participant always bad?
I don’t necessarily think so, but then again, if I’m getting compensated in part because my son’s face is on the thumbnail, he should share in some of the profits.
There definitely need to be clearer rules of the road here set by legislatures not parents. We can’t trust the latter - even the well-intentioned ones - to do the right thing, whatever that may be in the evolving social media environment.
