This is such a false dichotomy. Biden and the U.S. foreign policy "elites" as you call them are perfectly reasonable in not wanting to appear overtly offensive against Russia. Especially when Putin has already demonstrated his madman qualities as his hands hover over the button to launch hypersonic nuclear missiles.

It's one thing to support Ukraine defensively. As much as possible. Quite another to give them weaponry to take the fight into Russia itself. At that point, might as well put U.S. / NATO boots on the ground and prepare for nuclear war.
