There will always be people who try to evade any "ban" with VPNs, etc., but the vast majority won't (and simply aren't technically savvy enough). Also, I wouldn't compare this to the war on drugs because there are viable alternatives to TikTok like Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts (although they may be worse products). There's only one marijuana, cocaine, etc. So it's reasonable to think banning TikTok could be effective in eliminating it from American society (see India, for example, which has already successfully done so for a few years now).
