Many people genuinely believe he will fight for them and for America, regardless of what he says or does. Also, as I tried to get at in my essay, don't underestimate the power of nostalgia - many of my fellow Americans look back at the first Trump administration with rose-colored glasses. It was a more stable time globally and we had lower prices with a good stock market.

So while I agree and have written at length about the disgusting values of Trump and his shortcomings as a leader - people see him as more focused on their everyday problems than someone like Kamala Harris.
