Loved Bernie on both Rogan and Lex Fridman. I was begging to see a human side of Kamala going head-to-head with podcasters in the man-o-verse.
In terms of her connections to the incumbent party, Kamala could have been far clearer on her positions. She hedged and changed her answers too often about where she stood vis-a-vis Biden. When she did answer it was often (as David Axelrod described) "a word salad." I get what you're saying about structural forces, but politely disagreeing with your boss isn't an impenetrable structural force.
Finally - the democracy point you touched on is exactly what I was trying to get at. The demographic was too small and those that cared about the issue actually were concerned with how Democrats handled it, not Republicans.
