It’s not like Facebook hasn’t “paid” for these lies. They’ve paid billions in fines at a civil level to the FTC. However, totally agree that Zuckerberg and other executives should me more liable for their actions (they’ve largely received a pass). The Theranos fraud was different than the various Facebook scandals though because it was more targeted to select investors and the company was never publicly traded. Therefore it was easier for DOJ to identify the harm and connect it to Elizabeth, Sunny, and Theranos.
