I'm not saying he wants a literal rebirth and a return to Communism. You're right that he blamed the Bolsheviks for Ukraine.

What he does want is a return to USSR and historic Russian borders and spheres of influence. He made that clear in the speech, in addition to other comments he's made in the past about the dissolution of the USSR being one of the greatest geopolitical failures of all time.
