If you’re right, then why did so many of the people I mentioned in this article (including Elon Musk) back Democrats for the past two election cycles? Trump would have made them richer and less regulated for the past decade, but they didn’t go for the guy until now.

So I don’t think it’s as simple as concluding - it’s all about greed.
