If you think the charges are justified, why don’t you also think the rule of law demands that even its rulers be held accountable?

I hope you see that Trump’s presidential run is as much a liability shield as it is a quest for restored power. As a shield, it allows him to continue using his donor’s money to pay legal fees (which I think is legally questionable) and the presidency basically allows him to act with impunity.

Any well-functioning democracy respects the rule of law. Whether someone is a political candidate or even the president, should make no difference.
