Agree with you that Kamala Harris must define her campaign instead of making it all about Donald Trump. She did really well out of the gates because she spoke of hope, optimism, and an opportunity economy, but lately she's refocused on Donald Trump and her numbers have gone down.

Where I disagree is with statements like the one I highlighted above. Donald Trump stands for little that doesn't directly impact/benefit Donald Trump. He engaged in nonstop election denialism to try to retain power after he clearly lost (and he lost 60+ court cases trying to challenge the results). Now he's a convicted felon as decided by an independent jury of his peers, with many other legitimate criminal cases pending, and the presidency is the only thing that will save him from a prison sentence.

If you consider the personal consequences for Trump losing this election, it's pretty clear why he's running again. It's not for altruism. It's pure self-interest, which is consistent with everything he's ever done in his life.
