200 Medium Articles: What I’ve Learned
From over four years of writing on the platform
I’ve had a love-hate relationship with Medium for the past four years. It’s been the best place I’ve found to get paid for writing just about anything. It’s also been wildly inconsistent for me.
Although it’s hard to determine whether that’s a product of my writing, changing policies and algorithms at Medium, or some combination of it all.
I generally despise articles about Medium. They’re often low effort, full of nonsense, and masquerading as faux guru insight.
But I’ve published 200 articles now and have some sh*t to say so I’m making an exception.
Here are the main lessons I’ve learned after four years and 200 articles published on Medium.
You don’t need one niche
I hate niches. I hate the advice to “niche down” even more. As you can see from my top articles, they run the gamut of topics, from personal experiences to business, books, and relationships.
